Five Main Responsibilities of Holy Quran on each & every Muslim:
1. To accept by heart that the Holy Quran is from Allah (swt)
2. To recite it regularly with correct pronunciation (Tajweed).
3. To understand it what message has been given by Allah (swt) to mankind.
4. To act accordingly.
5. To convey true message of Allah (swt) to others.
What most of the muslims are doing that they are using the holy Quran either for Husool-e-Sawab or Isaal-e-Sawab only. We must try to check what we are doing is correct and according to the way of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his true followers.
Isaal-e-Sawab through Recitation of the Quran
It is Bid'ah (innovation) to recite the Qur'an for Isaal-e-Sawab of those who have passed away, regardless whether the deceased is your parent or relative. There is no evidence supporting this practice in the authentic sources of Islam, in the Seerah of the Prophet (Pbuh) or the life of his Companions. Didn't deaths occur during the time of the companions? Why then, we do not find any such evidence from their lives? All those things that benefit the living and the dead have already been shown by the Prophet (Pbuh), as Deen has been completed. Therefore, it is inappropriate to innovate anything in the religion.
Narrated Aisha (R.A.): Allah's Messenger (Pbuh) said, "If somebody innovates something which is not present in our religion, then that thing will be rejected."(Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 3, Hadith No. 2697 & Sahih Muslim, Vol. 3, Hadith No. 4266).
However it is allowed to pray for the deceased and give charity for him, as there is no difference of opinion in this regard. (Answer by Dr. Zakir Naik)
THEREFORE WE MUST RESTRAIN USING THE HOLY QURAN FOR HUSOOL-E-SAWAB OR ISAAL-E-SAWAB ONLY. RATHER WE SHOULD TRY TO FULFILL THE ABOVE 5 RESPONSIBILITIES (QURAN KAY HUQOOQ).
WE ARE PUTTING OUR ALL EFFORTS TO GAIN BENEFITS OF THE PRESENT LIFE WHICH IS GOING TO BE END SOON. BUT WE ARE NOT READY TO DO EFFORT TO LEARN ARABIC TO UNDERSTAND THE MESSAGE OF ALLAH (SWT). FOR GETTING VISA OF GERMANY WE WILL DEFINITELY TRY TO LEARN GERMAN BUT FOR GETTING VISA OF HEAVEN, WHERE THERE IS NO END OF LIFE, WE ARE RELUCTANT TO LEARN ARABIC. IF WE DON'T UNDERSTAND THE TRUE MESSAGE HOW WE ARE GOING TO FOLLOW IT AND CONVEY TO OTHERS. WHAT WE CAN DO FROM RIGHT NOW THAT ATLEAST RECITE QURAN WITH THE MEANING TILL WE LEARN ARABIC SO THAT WE COULD BE ABLE TO FULFILL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HOLY QURAN AND CONVEY OHERS THE TRUE MESSANGE FROM ALLAH (SWT) TO MANKIND.
